Nestled in the valley just west of the Taconic Pass in Eastern Rensselaer County lies the town of Petersburgh, New York. Created in 1791 from the town of Stephentown, Petersburgh encompasses 41.6 miles and has a population of approximately 1650 residents.  The center of town is located at NY State Routes 2 and 22 where a variety of municipal services are located.
The Petersburgh Public Library serves the community from its Main Street location offering access to the 29 member UHLS online catalog. The town offices, located next to the library, serve as the location for town court. On the other side of the library stands the Veteran's Memorial Hall that hosts a number teen nights, live musical performances and other community events. Petersburgh and the communities to the South and North get much of their local news from the area's weekly newspaper, The Eastwick Press.

Children residing in the community attend either Hoosick Falls Central School District or Berlin Central School District. A private school serving K-3rd grade students, Morning Star Montessori, is also located in Petersburgh.

The area is also home to the Berkshire Bird Paradise, one the country's largest bird sanctuary and home to some 1200 disabled or unwanted birds of varied species and origin.  Let us assist you in your search for Petersburgh Homes For Sale to find one that truly fits your needs.
